In the first time, she was known as a Cubic U. She was born from a musician family in New York, 1983. Hikaru Utada started in composing song since 10 years old. When she stepped in 12, she already had 3 single songs in US and International maxi-single in NY. For her well-known, her hits titled "Automatic and Time Will Tell" were became the songs top-chart before she released her album. The first debut was cracked the record in all FM - AM radio-station in Japan. Those songs were created in Japanese. She also won in "Power Play" -most often played song- Moreover on that time, the first week debut for her first album was go to the top in the AM - FM radio-station in Kanto and Kansai (the record in 1998, played 203 times a week). The hit-single "Automatic" was also stunned public. The second single, -also as a maxi-single and became the theme-song for Nissan Terano advertisement- was released in 17th February 1999 titled "Movin' On Without You" was go to the top of the song-chart Original-Confidence (Ori-con Chart). Next, the third single titled "First Love" which released in 10th March 1999 was sold for whole record and also go to the top of Ori-Con Chart. First Love also became a theme song for weekly TBS Network drama titled "Majo no Joken" (To be Witch). And the last fourth single titled "Addicted To You" with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis as the producers, released in 10th November 1999 |
