Been a while, a long enough actually, past 3 months and half ago, my eventually marriage with a lovely girl, Fanita Meilisa. Because the marriage was held in Bogor, my family and I went a day before the date from Malang. While I kept stayed a week, my family went back to Malang the day after the marriage. Fortunately, my brother finally was able to come even in the middle of the night. He was really busy, since he’s still taking residency to be Orthopedic specialist. I’m so grateful for his coming.

Saturday morning, 12 November 2011, is the date of our covenant marriage with the consent of her father. Thanks God, it’s all went smooth and there was no problem at all. Ijab and Qabul were fluently in just one breathtaking, thanks God there’s no need to repeat, thus both witnesses gave the consent. To consummate the marriage, we were brought together and I gave her the dowry or we called it “mahar” or “mas kawin”. Then, both of our parents sit on chair and my wife and I kneel down and asked both our parents for forgiveness while they also gave us advices. After all the ceremonial, we continued downstair to partake.

Saturday night, wedding party was held in tradition of Javanese. Yeah, it’s not like western party that seems simplistic. I had to wear traditional clothes, blangkon, keris in my back. My wife was worse, she had to wear complex traditional clothes and make up. On top of that she also had accessories in her head that was heavy. We had to stand up and to greet attending guest while being taken for photos for about one hour and half. Lastly, it was ended by a photo session for the bride, us.

The Reception

One most disappointing and annoying thing is, the photographers, Mr. J and friends, were not cooperated well. While there were important guest and family, they went for strolling and eating. Geez, what the heck, could you guys stop eating?! Please be a professional we’re in the middle of important event! Since the first, I had feeling that this person wouldn’t going easy. We can’t switch to another photographer since he’s the only provided by the Event Organizer. Oh crap, I’m trully not satisfied and really disappointed with this guy. I wish the EO will sack him out and get another better photographer, so the next weds will not suffer for this eating-first-and-other-craps photographer.

Monday noon, we’re checked in to Hotel that was provided by the EO, for couple day and one night, for free of course. It’s right in front of Istana Bogor. One thing that kept in my impression is… ssttt, I broke one cup accidentally hehe.

Next day, we checked out and took a train to Gambir and picked up by a driver from Kampung Sampireun. Its kind of resort in Garut where we spent few days for honeymoon. It took 4-5 hours to get there. The place was quite splendid. It was built surrounding, I don’t know exaclty, a lake or well or what. We stayed in bungalow in the lake side. Yeah, it was really relaxing. Under the bungalow was exactly the lake and there are so many Koi fishes there. Whenever we gave them fish food, they came clustered and crowded. Some of them were really big and we could touch them with our fingers, its tickling and wet… It’s like the world was ours only.

Last day, the departure

Days went too fast when we’re having fun. It’s seemed that we just arrived but unfortunately we must go back. Sigh…

I had to go back to Malang and she came with me for two weeks, then she must go back to Jakarta where she worked. We also had a wedding party, Unduh Mantu, in Malang for family of mine, colleagues, and friends. Once again, the “meet and greet” and the traditional costumes. That day, I just slept at 4.30 am and only 2-3 hours, because I had to make footage movies of our childhood until we met and married. Thanks God, everything went smooth…
